FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bloomington, IN – University Collections at McCalla will be hosting an event in collaboration with Indy's Love On A Leash called Puppies & Pizza on Wednesday, April 24 th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The event will include therapy dogs from the Love On A Leash program for students and staff to pet. Free pizza will also be included at this event. The purpose of this event is to give students and staff an opportunity to take a break before finals week and learn about the Love On A Leash program.
Love On A Leash is a nonprofit organization that coordinates visits from their therapy dogs to places such as hospitals, nursing homes, elementary and high schools, recovery centers, etc. According to their mission statement, they aim to "bring comfort, happiness, and healing to more people nationwide by increasing public awareness of pet therapy."
The mission of University Collections at McCalla is to provide accessible exhibition and educational experiences and create opportunities for students, faculty, and the community to engage with collections, IU-generated research, and creative projects in meaningful and innovative ways.
The Puppies & Pizza event is run by Alisha Beard, the engagement coordinator for University Collections. Any questions, concerns, or accommodations needed for the event can be addressed to her. She can be contacted by email at alibeard@iu.edu.
