Bloomington, IN – Experience an unforgettable evening with Chris Martin, the 6th-generation owner of the iconic guitar manufacturer, C.F. Martin & Co., as he shares his passion and stories from his over 35 years at the helm of the company. Founded in 1833 in New York City, Martin Guitar has been crafting the world’s finest acoustic guitars for nearly 200 years.

Chris Martin will bring incredible prototypes from his personal collection from the Martin Guitar Museum and share fascinating stories about the brand’s history. This special talk is in association with the “Amped at IU” exhibit, on display in the McCalla Building through September 2025.

Highlights of the Evening:

  • Unique Martin Instruments: Chris will showcase some of the rare and unique Martin instruments from his extensive collection.
  • Live Musical Demonstration: Enjoy live music by Martin Guitar clinician and singer/songwriter Craig Thatcher, who will play some of the priceless instruments.
  • Special Feature: The event will also include items from the Jim Irsay Collection related to music icon Bob Dylan, adding an extra layer of musical history to the evening.
